If I asked you which modern actor you could imagine in the role of Superman, I’m pretty sure you wouldn’t say Brendan Fraser. However, according to this story, Fraser is one of only two actors left in consideration for the role (the other guy is some TV soap actor I’ve never heard of). This is weird; Fraser is always playing stupid, clueless characters so I have no idea how appropriate that is for the big blue boy scout.
In other news, Halle Berry has signed on for the new Catwoman movie slated for production before the end of the year. I don’t have anything against black people playing white comic characters, but after Michael Clarke Duncan’s lame-ass Kingpin role in Daredevil, I’m a bit wary with this decision. Halle Berry has never really struck me as the sort of actress who can do tongue-in-cheek roles very well, so I’m not exactly holding my breath for this one.
